Fundraising and Dues

 

The Boston University Synchronized Skating Team is a club sport, and this allows them to receive some funding from the university. However, it is not enough to cover all of the expenses of collegiate synchronized skating.

 

Each BUSST member is required to pay dues, which are split into monthly payments. The cost of each season varies depending on competition locations, new apparel, and other fees.

The team holds a number of fundraisers throughout the season in order to keep the cost as low as possible, to allow every skater the opportunity to skate. In the 2017-2018 season, BUSST raised over $4,000 with fundraising initiatives.

Aside from fundraising, the team also participates in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk each year. This season the team also raised over $1000 for the American Cancer Society.
